South Indian drip coffee maker · decoction poured straight from a spout · available in 270 ml or 450 ml
Every South Indian kitchen knows the 6 a.m. ritual: powder into the filter, hot water on top, a wait while the decoction drips, then the careful lift of the top tier and that tricky pour from the lower vessel's rim, with a little decoction always finding the counter. The Kitchen Mart Stainless Steel Coffee Kettle with Filter keeps the slow-drip filter you trust, but builds it into a kettle with a handle and a long spout. The decoction collects where it should, and you pour it straight into the tumbler.

| ☕ Pour from a spout | The decoction collects in a kettle with a long curved spout and a handle, so you pour straight into the tumbler. No lifting a hot top tier, no tipping decoction over a rim. |
|---|---|
| 📏 Choose your size | Pick 270 ml for one or two coffee drinkers, or approx. 450 ml for a family of four or five. You receive the one size you select. |
| 🔩 All stainless steel | Kettle, filter chamber, spreader disc and lid are all steel. No plastic part touches the coffee. |
| 🌀 Spreader disc | The holed disc with a centre stem spreads the water across the powder for a thicker, more even decoction. |
| 🔌 No electricity | Boil water, pour, wait. Nothing to plug in, so no voltage worries anywhere in the world. |
| 🧽 Comes apart in 4 pieces | Open steel parts with no hidden corners, so rinsing out grounds takes a minute. |
It is a drip coffee kettle: the filter sits inside it, and it brews by gravity, not on the stove. Coffee powder goes into the perforated filter chamber, the spreader disc rests on top, and you pour freshly boiled water over it and close the lid. The water soaks through the powder and drips through the holes into the kettle below as thick decoction, which you pour out through the spout. There's no electricity, no flame and no pressure involved.
Pick the 270 ml if you make coffee for one or two people; pick the 450 ml for a family of four or five, or if guests are regular. Both have the same 4-part design; only the capacity and size change. Each order is one kettle in the size you choose.

A traditional filter is two stacked cylinders, and you pour decoction from the lower vessel's rim. The coffee kettle puts the same filter inside a spouted kettle with a handle, so you pour the decoction out through the spout. The brewing itself is the same slow gravity drip; what changes is how you hold and pour.

Knock out the used grounds, rinse all four parts in warm water with mild dishwashing liquid, and clear the filter holes with a soft brush. We recommend hand washing.
No. Despite the kettle shape, it is a drip filter for South Indian filter coffee. Boil the water separately, pour it over the coffee powder in the filter chamber, and the decoction drips into the kettle below.
We don't recommend it. It is designed as a drip filter: boil the water separately in an electric kettle or a vessel, then pour it in. Heating it directly on a flame or induction can scorch the decoction.
Neither. It is a drip coffee maker. Many people call it a coffee percolator, but it brews by gravity drip like a traditional South Indian filter, with no stove and no pressure. A moka pot sits on the flame and pushes water up with steam pressure.
The 270 ml makes up to 2–3 cups and the 450 ml makes up to 4–5 cups of filter coffee, where each cup is decoction mixed with milk.
No. Each order is one coffee kettle set (kettle, filter chamber, spreader disc and lid) in the size you select: 270 ml or 450 ml. To get both sizes, add each one to your cart separately.
South Indian filter coffee powder, either pure coffee or a coffee-chicory blend, in a medium-fine filter grind. Very fine espresso-style powder can block the holes and slow the drip. Instant coffee doesn't need a filter at all.
Typically 10–20 minutes. Finer powder and firmer packing slow it down; a coarser grind speeds it up.
Too slow usually means the powder is too fine or pressed down too hard, so loosen the packing. Weak decoction usually means too little powder or too coarse a grind. Use a little more powder and always place the spreader disc on top so the water soaks the whole bed evenly.
We recommend hand washing. Rinse soon after use, clear the filter holes with a soft brush, and dry fully before storing.
