Coffee Filters
South Indian filter coffee makers — traditional stainless steel and brass coffee filters (dabara sets), percolators and drip filters from Kitchen Mart, Embassy, Prestige and Bergner.
A proper steel filter makes decoction the way a Bangalore or Chennai household does: coarse-ground coffee, pressed with the plunger, hot water on top, then the decoction drips overnight or over half an hour. Sizes run from a single cup to 8-cup family filters. Nothing an electric machine makes tastes quite the same.
