The Family Pack is the complete Comfort+ 3L wet grinder plus an extra small drum with its own grinding stones and lid, along with a coconut scraper, atta kneader, top wiper and spatula. The large stone assembly goes in the 3L drum; the small assembly goes in the small drum.

Because a wet grinder grinds best when the drum is properly loaded. A 3-litre drum is right for a family's weekly idli–dosa batter, but too big for a small batch. The extra small drum, with its own smaller stones, lets you grind a little at a time on the same motor.

Use the 3L drum for the big jobs — weekly idli and dosa batter, adai, paniyaram, festival-size medu vada batter for Pongal or Diwali guests. Switch to the small drum for a fresh coconut or peanut chutney, a small batch of batter for two, or a wet masala for tonight's kuzhambu. Swapping drums means lifting one drum off the base and seating the other — no tools, no second machine on the counter.

A tap on the front of the drum lets the finished batter flow out into your vessel while the drum stays on the base. You don't lift or tilt a heavy drum full of stones and batter.

Anyone who has hauled a full drum off a traditional grinder knows why this matters — the drum is heavy, the batter is sticky, and scooping the last of it from around the stones is the worst part of the job. Here you place a vessel under the tap and open it. For elders in the family, or anyone with wrist or back trouble, it turns batter-day from a two-person job into a one-person one.

Pour clean water into the drum, switch the grinder on so the stones swirl it around, then drain it out through the dispatch tap. Repeat until the water runs clear, then wipe and air-dry the drum and stones.

SmartFingers' lid is designed to shower water evenly into the drum without opening it, and the knob is a spring-free, centre-locking design with fewer crevices for batter to hide in. Remove the stones and drum for a final rinse when you want a thorough clean. Never immerse or wash the motor base — wipe it with a damp cloth.

With the included coconut scraper and atta kneader, it also grates fresh coconut and kneads chapati dough. Both attachments are part of this pack — nothing extra to buy.

Grate coconut for chutney, avial, thoran or kozhukattai filling with the coconut scraper; knead soft chapati or poori dough with the atta kneader. And with the stones fitted, the drums handle chutneys and wet masala pastes as well as batters.

Choose the 3L Family Pack if you grind for 4 or more people and also want a small drum for small batches. For 2–3 people the 2L Comfort Plus or 1.25L Mini is enough; NRI customers need the separate 110 V models.

Is it difficult to clean?

No. Pour water in, run it briefly and drain it through the tap. Then rinse the removable drum and stones. Do not wash the motor base.

Can I use both drums at the same time?

No — there is one motor base, so you use one drum at a time. Swap drums by lifting one off and seating the other.
